Erik Allen
Catcher | Retired or Inactive Players

Hitting
This guy can't hit a watermelon with a lampost. I tell you, it's a real trip to watch this guy play. He gives 110% all the time... unfortunately that means he tends to run out of gas as the game wears on. He hits righthanders and lefthanders with equal consistency. You can expect Erik Allen to hit the ball to the opposite field... that's just the kind of hitter he is.

Baserunning & Defense
Allen is a poor defensive catcher. His weak, erratic throwing arm is his greatest liability. Allen isn't a good baserunner. He doesn't get good jumps on steals nor runs sharp routes around the bases.

2010 Outlook
What The Retired or Inactive Players was thinking when they signed Allen to a long contract, is beyond me: this guy flat-out sucks.
