Rowlf Anderson
Starting Pitcher | New York Yankees

Pitching
When sportscasters talk about Anderson's rubber arm, they're not kidding. Sometimes I think he can start both games of a double header! Anderson is a control pitcher; when he's on he has pinpoint control. His fastball gets into the high 80s, but it's the sink that makes the pitch effective. Anderson also has a decent changeup. Anderson also throws a screwball. He traditionally fares better against lefties.

Defense & Hitting
Teams run on him more than they do most lefthanders. Anderson never has been a good fielder. Anderson is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Anderson has some pop in his swing.

2010 Outlook
The New York Yankees signed him to a long-term contract, but don't think they won't drop Anderson like a hot potato if something better comes along.
