This guy can't hit a watermelon with a lampost. Even though you might not start him, he's not a bad guy to have on your bench for the tough left-handed reliever. You can expect Chubby Banning to hit the ball to the opposite field... that's just the kind of hitter he is. It's hard to explain but Chubby Banning plays much better on the road then he does at home. It's unfortunate too, with Banning signing a hefty contract. You gotta imagine management wants a little better relationship between him and the fans.

Baserunning & Defense
Banning has below-average speed and is a poor baserunner. Banning is a poor defensive catcher. He isn't very mobile or adept at blocking balls in the dirt. His arm is accurate enough.

2010 Outlook
What The Free Agents was thinking when they signed Banning to a long contract, is beyond me: this guy flat-out sucks.
