Arnold Barfield
Shortstop | Retired or Inactive Players

Hitting
In past seasons, Barfield has been a bit of a liability with men on base. The book on Barfield is that you can knock the bat out of his hands with an average major league fastball. Barfield always has been a line-drive hitter who uses the entire field. He hits righthanders and lefthanders with equal consistency.

Baserunning & Defense
Minor league scouts have accused Barfield of being a liability in the field. His arm is accurate enough. Barfield often has trouble scoring from second base on singles and goes from first to third only on hits to right field.

2010 Outlook
What The Retired or Inactive Players was thinking when they signed Barfield to a long contract, is beyond me: this guy flat-out sucks.
