Chuck Barillari
First Baseman | Kansas City Lords

Hitting
With his ability to hit for average and his sound batting eye, he makes a good No. 2 hitter. He hangs in well against lefthanders' breaking balls, and some of the pitchers he hits best are the southpaw specialists often brought in to face him. He's a straight pull hitter whose power extends from the rightfield gap to the line.

Baserunning & Defense
He also has a strong and accurate arm, and isn't afraid to look for the force at second or third. Barillari doesn't have great speed, though he reads righthanders' moves well enough to steal a few bases each season without getting caught very often.

2010 Outlook
The Kansas City Lords were smart, they locked Barillari up to a long term contract. Barillari has impressed at the A-ball level. Look for the Kansas City Lords to give him a shot in Double or Triple A before the year is up.
