Hitting
He has the mental discipline to handle clutch situations. He has a natural lift to his swing, which produces few groundballs. He hits righthanders and lefthanders with equal consistency. You can expect Michael Barrett to pull the ball.

Baserunning & Defense
He might not deliver for you at the plate, but Barrett can certainly deliver in the field. He is an exceptional fielder. Barrett has one of the strongest arms among catchers. Barrett doesn't have great speed, though he reads righthanders' moves well enough to steal a few bases each season without getting caught very often.

2010 Outlook
I can't say I know what The Milwaukee Brewers were doing locking this guy up to a long term contract. A questionable call at best. Barrett has below average skills, even for the low minors. One has to expect the Milwaukee Brewers will give him his walking papers before the end of the season.
