Jim Barry
First Baseman | Retired or Inactive Players

Hitting
This guy can't hit a watermelon with a lampost. But Jim's detracters are quick to call attention to his ongoing struggles at the plate with men on base. He hits righthanders and lefthanders with equal consistency. You can expect Jim Barry to pull the ball.

Baserunning & Defense
He has below-average speed and is stiff on the basepath. He's poor on a straight steal but has some success at reading pitchers and working a delayed steal. His glovework leaves a lot to be desired. His arm is accurate enough.

2010 Outlook
What The Retired or Inactive Players was thinking when they signed Barry to a long contract, is beyond me: this guy flat-out sucks.
