Rich Batchelor
Relief Pitcher | Retired or Inactive Players

Pitching
He struggles with his command at times and is still learning to mix his pitches and set up hitters. Batchelor also has a decent changeup. He's almost as effective against righthanders as he is versus lefthanders.

Defense & Hitting
He has a fair pickoff move and isn't a particularly easy target for basestealers. He tends to fall off slightly to the first-base side of the mound, making him vulnerable to bunts toward third base. He makes up for that minor flaw by being aggressive in fielding his position. Batchelor is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Batchelor has some pop in his swing. Interesting sidenote, The Retired or Inactive Players have been known to use Batchelor as a pinch-runner on occasion.

2010 Outlook
AA isn't the right place for Batchelor. Expect the Retired or Inactive Players to send him down for some minor retooling. I just don't know if The Retired or Inactive Players are ever going to get what they expect out of him.
