Bauers never has been a patient hitter. In past seasons, Bauers has been a bit of a liability with men on base. He hits righthanders and lefthanders with equal consistency. Bob Bauers has made a career of putting the ball to the opposite field. That's rare in this day and age.

Baserunning & Defense
His defense is solid but unspectacular. His arm is accurate enough. Bauers isn't fast, but he's a heady baserunner who rarely gets thrown out.

2010 Outlook
I can't say I know what The Cleveland Lions were doing locking this guy up to a long term contract. A questionable call at best. Bauers has below average skills, even for the low minors. One has to expect the Cleveland Lions will give him his walking papers before the end of the season.
