Frankie Beaker
Catcher | Texas Rangers

Hitting
Beaker seems to become especially focused in big situations. He has a natural lift to his swing, which produces few groundballs. He hangs in well against lefthanders' breaking balls, and some of the pitchers he hits best are the southpaw specialists often brought in to face him. You can expect Frankie Beaker to pull the ball.

Baserunning & Defense
He doesn't get good jumps on grounders, but his routes are fine and his hands aren't bad. His arm is accurate enough. He generally takes one base at a time, though he'll take advantage if an outfielder gets lackadaisical.

2010 Outlook
The Texas Rangers signed him to a long-term contract, but don't think they won't drop Beaker like a hot potato if something better comes along.
