Curt Brown
Catcher | Free Agents

Hitting
In past seasons, Brown has been a bit of a liability with men on base. The book on Brown is that you can knock the bat out of his hands with an average major league fastball. Let's face facts: Brown hits a lot of ground balls... and in my book, if you're slow of foot and put the ball on the ground, you're bound to get tied up in the double play. He hits righthanders and lefthanders with equal consistency.

Baserunning & Defense
His speed is below average and he's not a threat to steal. Brown is a poor defensive catcher. He isn't very mobile or adept at blocking balls in the dirt. His arm is accurate enough.

2010 Outlook
What The Free Agents was thinking when they signed Brown to a long contract, is beyond me: this guy flat-out sucks.
