Emil Brown
Right Fielder | Detroit Tigers

Hitting
Brown provides an ongoing clinic on how to hit .300. He works the count in his favor, waiting for his pitch or settling for a walk. He thrives late in games. He's still a singles hitter at heart, and knows how to shorten up and protect the plate with two strikes. Brown was a line-drive hitter when he first came up, but over the last few years has become more of a true home-run hitter, lofting more high flyballs. He hits righthanders and lefthanders with equal consistency. Brown tends to zone in on the power-alleys. Most of his outfield hits are to left and right center.

Baserunning & Defense
Brown also has toned down the careless and overaggressive mistakes he used to make. He's still adept at making sliding catches on balls near the foul line. His arm is accurate enough. He steals a few bases with his combination of quickness and a decent first step.

2010 Outlook
Brown is in charge when he's at the plate.
