Pitching
This guy has closer written all over him. He struggles with his command at times and is still learning to mix his pitches and set up hitters. His fastball gets into the high 80s, but it's the sink that makes the pitch effective. Brutis also has a decent changeup. Steals sometimes unnerve Brutis, who isn't blessed with extraordinary self-confidence. He changes speeds well enough to keep righthanders from teeing off on him.

Defense & Hitting
He isn't especially quick off the mound but generally fields his position adequately. Brutis doesn't make much of an attempt to combat the running game. Basestealers ran at will last year. Brutis is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Brutis has some pop in his swing.

2010 Outlook
If Brutis doesn't perform, the Oakland Athletics won't hesitate to send him down to the minors. I just don't know if The Oakland Athletics are ever going to get what they expect out of him.
