Pete Carney
Catcher | Retired or Inactive Players

Hitting
This guy can't hit a watermelon with a lampost. Let's face facts: Carney hits a lot of ground balls... and in my book, if you're slow of foot and put the ball on the ground, you're bound to get tied up in the double play. Even though you might not start him, he's not a bad guy to have on your bench for the tough left-handed reliever.

Baserunning & Defense
Carney has below-average speed and is a poor baserunner. Minor league scouts have accused Carney of being a liability in the field. His biggest problem in the field simply has to be his throwing arm... it's well below par.

2010 Outlook
What The Retired or Inactive Players was thinking when they signed Carney to a long contract, is beyond me: this guy flat-out sucks.
