Bob Carter
Shortstop | Retired or Inactive Players

Hitting
The book on Carter is that you can knock the bat out of his hands with an average major league fastball. Let's face facts: Carter hits a lot of ground balls... and in my book, if you're slow of foot and put the ball on the ground, you're bound to get tied up in the double play. Even though you might not start him, he's not a bad guy to have on your bench for the tough left-handed reliever.

Baserunning & Defense
His speed is below average and he's not a threat to steal. His glovework leaves a lot to be desired. Bob's arm leaves a little to be a desired.

2010 Outlook
What The Retired or Inactive Players was thinking when they signed Carter to a long contract, is beyond me: this guy flat-out sucks.
