Cecil Conlan
Relief Pitcher | Retired or Inactive Players

Pitching
Conlan has to keep the ball down, especially against lefties, or he gets hit hard and often. Sometimes I wish he'd just give up on throwing the changeup, it's like a BP ball! If you're going in to face Conlan, better be wearing plenty of protection. He's wild. You know, some times I think I can throw harder than Conlan, and that's saying a lot. He frequently leaves fastballs up in the strike zone, where they get pounded. Dating back to his days in the minors, Conlan has been more effective against righthanders than lefthanders.

Defense & Hitting
He doesn't have much of a pickoff move and he's slow getting the ball to home plate out of the set position. Conlan's follow-through leaves him in a vulnerable position, so he has trouble with comebackers. Conlan is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Conlan has some pop in his swing. Interesting sidenote, The Retired or Inactive Players have been known to use Conlan as a pinch-runner on occasion.

2010 Outlook
But if you ask me, I'll pass on Conlan.
