He has the mental discipline to handle clutch situations. The book on Corkins is that you can knock the bat out of his hands with an average major league fastball. Corkins always has been a line-drive hitter who uses the entire field. He hits righthanders and lefthanders with equal consistency.

Baserunning & Defense
Corkins isn't a good baserunner. He doesn't get good jumps on steals nor runs sharp routes around the bases. Corkins is a poor defensive catcher. He isn't very mobile or adept at blocking balls in the dirt. Runners take advantage of his weak arm.
