Chili Davis
Left Fielder | Retired or Inactive Players

Hitting
He has the mental discipline to handle clutch situations. Let's face facts: Davis hits a lot of ground balls... and in my book, if you're slow of foot and put the ball on the ground, you're bound to get tied up in the double play. He hits righthanders and lefthanders with equal consistency.

Baserunning & Defense
Davis isn't a good baserunner. He doesn't get good jumps on steals nor runs sharp routes around the bases. Davis doesn't read balls well off the bat, misses cutoff men consistently and floats throws to the infield. Runners take advantage of his weak arm.

2010 Outlook
If Davis doesn't perform, the Retired or Inactive Players won't hesitate to send him down to the minors.
