Delino DeShields
Second Baseman | Retired or Inactive Players
Hitting One of the nice things about Delino is that he's a real clutch hitter. DeShields always has been a line-drive hitter who uses the entire field. He hits righthanders and lefthanders with equal consistency. It's hard to explain but Delino DeShields plays much better on the road then he does at home.
Baserunning & Defense DeShields doesn't have great speed, though he reads righthanders' moves well enough to steal a few bases each season without getting caught very often. In the past, his critics have accused DeShields of being a liability in the field. His arm is accurate enough.
2010 Outlook If DeShields doesn't perform, the Retired or Inactive Players won't hesitate to send him down to the minors.
