Jimmie Fleitas
Second Baseman | Retired or Inactive Players
Hitting In past seasons, Fleitas has been a bit of a liability with men on base. The book on Fleitas is that you can knock the bat out of his hands with an average major league fastball. Let's face facts: Fleitas hits a lot of ground balls... and in my book, if you're slow of foot and put the ball on the ground, you're bound to get tied up in the double play. He hits righthanders and lefthanders with equal consistency. You can expect Jimmie Fleitas to hit the ball to the opposite field... that's just the kind of hitter he is.
Baserunning & Defense Minor league scouts have accused Fleitas of being a liability in the field. Jimmie's arm leaves a little to be a desired. He has no speed at all and runs the bases conservatively.
2010 Outlook What The Retired or Inactive Players was thinking when they signed Fleitas to a long contract, is beyond me: this guy flat-out sucks.
