Ted Galvin
Catcher | Free Agents
Hitting This guy can't hit a watermelon with a lampost. Let's face facts: Galvin hits a lot of ground balls... and in my book, if you're slow of foot and put the ball on the ground, you're bound to get tied up in the double play. He hangs in well against lefthanders' breaking balls, and some of the pitchers he hits best are the southpaw specialists often brought in to face him.
Baserunning & Defense When you play Galvin you're not putting him in for his glove. Ted's arm leaves a little to be a desired. His speed is below average and he's not a threat to steal.
2010 Outlook What The Free Agents was thinking when they signed Galvin to a long contract, is beyond me: this guy flat-out sucks.
