This guy can't hit a watermelon with a lampost. Gardner always has been a line-drive hitter who uses the entire field. He hits righthanders and lefthanders with equal consistency.

Baserunning & Defense
Gardner has below-average speed and is a poor baserunner. Gardner is a poor defensive catcher. He isn't very mobile or adept at blocking balls in the dirt. His arm is accurate enough.

2010 Outlook
What The Free Agents was thinking when they signed Gardner to a long contract, is beyond me: this guy flat-out sucks.
