Hitting
This guy can't hit a watermelon with a lampost. But Willie's detracters are quick to call attention to his ongoing struggles at the plate with men on base. He hits righthanders and lefthanders with equal consistency. Willie Getzien has made a career of putting the ball to the opposite field. That's rare in this day and age.

Baserunning & Defense
Getzien is an intelligent baserunner with average speed, but he's not a basestealing threat. Getzien doesn't read balls well off the bat, misses cutoff men consistently and floats throws to the infield. Runners take advantage of his weak arm.

2010 Outlook
What The Free Agents was thinking when they signed Getzien to a long contract, is beyond me: this guy flat-out sucks.
