AJ Hinch
Catcher | Montreal Expos

Hitting
He has a very quick bat and can adjust to a pitch's movement as well as any hitter in the game. He's still a singles hitter at heart, and knows how to shorten up and protect the plate with two strikes. Hinch always has been a line-drive hitter who uses the entire field. He hits righthanders and lefthanders with equal consistency. Hinch uses the entire field and typically produces a couple of hitting streaks of 10 or more games during a season.

Baserunning & Defense
Hinch isn't a fluid catcher, but he's not afraid to get dirty and gets the job done. His arm is accurate enough. Hinch doesn't have great speed, though he reads righthanders' moves well enough to steal a couple bases each season without getting caught very often.

2010 Outlook
Hinch is in charge when he's at the plate.
