Ed Kane
Shortstop | Free Agents

Hitting
He has the mental discipline to handle clutch situations. Kane never has been a patient hitter. Kane always has been a line-drive hitter who uses the entire field. He hangs in well against lefthanders' breaking balls, and some of the pitchers he hits best are the southpaw specialists often brought in to face him.

Baserunning & Defense
Kane doesn't have great speed, though he reads righthanders' moves well enough to steal a handful of bases each season without getting caught very often. When you play Kane you're not putting him in for his glove. Ed's arm leaves a little to be a desired.

2010 Outlook
What The Free Agents was thinking when they signed Kane to a long contract, is beyond me: this guy flat-out sucks.
