Nelson Liriano
Second Baseman | Retired or Inactive Players

Hitting
Liriano seems to become especially focused in big situations. Let's face facts: Liriano hits a lot of ground balls... and in my book, if you're slow of foot and put the ball on the ground, you're bound to get tied up in the double play. He hits righthanders and lefthanders with equal consistency.

Baserunning & Defense
Liriano has below-average speed and is a poor baserunner. In the past, his critics have accused Liriano of being a liability in the field. Nelson's arm leaves a little to be a desired.

2010 Outlook
AA isn't the right place for Liriano. Expect the Retired or Inactive Players to send him down for some minor retooling.
