Hitting
Lis never has been a patient hitter. With his slap-hitting approach, Lis always hits like he already has two strikes. The results are usually groundballs or line drives to the opposite field. He hits righthanders and lefthanders with equal consistency. You can expect Joe Lis to hit the ball to the opposite field... that's just the kind of hitter he is.

Baserunning & Defense
Lis doesn't have great speed, though he reads righthanders' moves well enough to steal a couple bases each season without getting caught very often. When you play Lis you're not putting him in for his glove. His arm is accurate enough.
