Pitching
He's unflappable on the mound, possessing the confidence to throw any of his offerings at any time in the count. He's a finesse pitcher, relying on movement and location. The bottom also falls out of his very good changeup. Martinez also throws a screwball. He attacks lefties and righties with similar success.

Defense & Hitting
Martinez remains one of the best fielding pitchers in the game's history. With a decent slide step and his constant attention to the running game, Martinez limits the damage done by basestealers. Martinez is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Martinez has some pop in his swing.

I really like what this kid brings to the table.
