Hal Morris
First Baseman | Retired or Inactive Players

Hitting
But Hal's detracters are quick to call attention to his ongoing struggles at the plate with men on base. Let's face facts: Morris hits a lot of ground balls... and in my book, if you're slow of foot and put the ball on the ground, you're bound to get tied up in the double play. The Retired or Inactive Players do tend to sit Morris when the opposing team throws a lefty. It's no secret he can't touch the left-handed breaking ball. You can expect Hal Morris to hit the ball to the opposite field... that's just the kind of hitter he is. He absolutely loves playing before the hometown crowd.

Baserunning & Defense
His arm and range are average, and he has a tendency to get lazy with his feet. He generally takes one base at a time, though he'll take advantage if an outfielder gets lackadaisical.

2010 Outlook
If Morris doesn't perform, the Retired or Inactive Players won't hesitate to send him down to the minors.
