Pitching
If you're going in to face Newfield, better be wearing plenty of protection. He's wild. You know, some times I think I can throw harder than Newfield, and that's saying a lot. He's almost as effective against lefthanders as he is versus righthanders.

Defense & Hitting
He doesn't have much of a pickoff move and he's slow getting the ball to home plate out of the set position. Newfield is agile on the mound, though he makes needless errors when his concentration wanders. Newfield is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Newfield has some pop in his swing. Interesting sidenote, The Free Agents have been known to use Newfield as a pinch-runner on occasion.

2010 Outlook
What The Free Agents was thinking when they signed Newfield to a long contract, is beyond me: this guy flat-out sucks. But if you ask me, I'll pass on Newfield.
