Carl Odom
Shortstop | Retired or Inactive Players
Hitting He has the mental discipline to handle clutch situations. This guy can't hit a watermelon with a lampost. Odom always has been a line-drive hitter who uses the entire field. He hits righthanders and lefthanders with equal consistency. It's hard to explain but Carl Odom plays much better on the road then he does at home. It's unfortunate too, with Odom signing a hefty contract. You gotta imagine management wants a little better relationship between him and the fans.
Baserunning & Defense He generally takes one base at a time, though he'll take advantage if an outfielder gets lackadaisical. His glovework leaves a lot to be desired. His biggest problem in the field simply has to be his throwing arm... it's well below par.
2010 Outlook What The Retired or Inactive Players was thinking when they signed Odom to a long contract, is beyond me: this guy flat-out sucks.
