John Olerud
First Baseman | Retired or Inactive Players

Hitting
In past seasons, Olerud has been a bit of a liability with men on base. Let's face facts: Olerud hits a lot of ground balls... and in my book, if you're slow of foot and put the ball on the ground, you're bound to get tied up in the double play. The Retired or Inactive Players do tend to sit Olerud when the opposing team throws a lefty. It's no secret he can't touch the left-handed breaking ball. It's hard to explain but John Olerud plays much better on the road then he does at home.

Baserunning & Defense
His defense is solid but unspectacular. His arm is accurate enough. His speed is below average and he's not a threat to steal.

2010 Outlook
If Olerud doesn't perform, the Retired or Inactive Players won't hesitate to send him down to the minors.
