Relief Pitcher | Free Agents

Pitching
He struggles with his command at times and is still learning to mix his pitches and set up hitters. Pearce also has a decent changeup. No one questions this guy's heart. They do question why he just can't get it done late in the game. The running movement on his pitches makes life tougher on lefties than righties.

Defense & Hitting
He has a fair pickoff move and isn't a particularly easy target for basestealers. Pearce is nothing special in the field. Pearce is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Pearce has some pop in his swing. Interesting sidenote, The Free Agents have been known to use Pearce as a pinch-runner on occasion.

2010 Outlook
I can't say I know what The Free Agents were doing locking this guy up to a long term contract. A questionable call at best. I just don't know if The Free Agents are ever going to get what they expect out of him.
