Hitting
Pena never has been a patient hitter. But Tony's detracters are quick to call attention to his ongoing struggles at the plate with men on base. Pena always has been a line-drive hitter who uses the entire field. He hits righthanders and lefthanders with equal consistency.

Baserunning & Defense
When you play Pena you're not putting him in for his glove. His biggest problem in the field simply has to be his throwing arm... it's well below par. Pena has below-average speed and is a poor baserunner.

2010 Outlook
One has to wonder what Tony Pena is doing in AA. In all honesty, he could use a lot of work on the fundamentals in the low minors.
