He has a natural lift to his swing, which produces few groundballs. He hits righthanders and lefthanders with equal consistency.

Baserunning & Defense
He makes the occasional spectacular catch and has great instincts. His arm strength is well above average and runners rarely try to take liberties against him. Pierre is an above-average runner, but lacks the first-step explosiveness needed to become a basestealing threat.

2010 Outlook
The Seattle Mariners signed him to a long-term contract, but don't think they won't drop Pierre like a hot potato if something better comes along.
