Rip Reninger
Left Fielder | New York Mets

Hitting
Reninger never has been a patient hitter. He hangs in well against lefthanders' breaking balls, and some of the pitchers he hits best are the southpaw specialists often brought in to face him. You can expect Rip Reninger to pull the ball. He absolutely loves playing before the hometown crowd, and they love him!

Baserunning & Defense
Though he managed to record his share of assists, his arm is just average. Reninger doesn't have great speed, though he reads righthanders' moves well enough to steal a few bases each season without getting caught very often.

2010 Outlook
I can't say I know what The New York Mets were doing locking this guy up to a long term contract. A questionable call at best. Reninger has below average skills, even for the low minors. One has to expect the New York Mets will give him his walking papers before the end of the season.
