Hitting
He has the mental discipline to handle clutch situations. The book on Rico is that you can knock the bat out of his hands with an average major league fastball. He hits righthanders and lefthanders with equal consistency. You can expect Mickey Rico to hit the ball to the opposite field... that's just the kind of hitter he is.

Baserunning & Defense
Rico is a poor defensive catcher. He isn't very mobile or adept at blocking balls in the dirt. Mickey's arm leaves a little to be a desired. Rico isn't a good baserunner. He doesn't get good jumps on steals nor runs sharp routes around the bases.
