Beryl Rijo
Shortstop | Retired or Inactive Players

Hitting
In past seasons, Rijo has been a bit of a liability with men on base. The book on Rijo is that you can knock the bat out of his hands with an average major league fastball. Rijo always has been a line-drive hitter who uses the entire field. The Retired or Inactive Players do tend to sit Rijo when the opposing team throws a lefty. It's no secret he can't touch the left-handed breaking ball.

Baserunning & Defense
Minor league scouts have accused Rijo of being a liability in the field. Beryl's arm leaves a little to be a desired. He has no speed at all and runs the bases conservatively.

2010 Outlook
What The Retired or Inactive Players was thinking when they signed Rijo to a long contract, is beyond me: this guy flat-out sucks.
