Hitting
The book on Rooker is that you can knock the bat out of his hands with an average major league fastball. He has a natural lift to his swing, which produces few groundballs. He hangs in well against lefthanders' breaking balls, and some of the pitchers he hits best are the southpaw specialists often brought in to face him.

Baserunning & Defense
Rooker isn't fast, but he's a heady baserunner who rarely gets thrown out. Minor league scouts have accused Rooker of being a liability in the field. His arm is accurate enough.

2010 Outlook
What The Free Agents was thinking when they signed Rooker to a long contract, is beyond me: this guy flat-out sucks.
