Hitting
The book on Rubio is that you can knock the bat out of his hands with an average major league fastball. Rubio always has been a line-drive hitter who uses the entire field. He hits righthanders and lefthanders with equal consistency.
Baserunning & Defense
He's an adequate rightfielders who is helped by his experience. His arm is accurate enough. Rubio doesn't have great speed, though he reads righthanders' moves well enough to steal a few bases each season without getting caught very often.
2010 Outlook
What The Florida Marlins was thinking when they signed Rubio to a long contract, is beyond me: this guy flat-out sucks. Rubio isn't cutting the mustard in the low minors. It's time for Russ to investigate other career options, like coaching highschool ball.
