Bombo Ryan
Second Baseman | Retired or Inactive Players

Hitting
This guy can't hit a watermelon with a lampost. But Bombo's detracters are quick to call attention to his ongoing struggles at the plate with men on base. Let's face facts: Ryan hits a lot of ground balls... and in my book, if you're slow of foot and put the ball on the ground, you're bound to get tied up in the double play. He hits righthanders and lefthanders with equal consistency. Bombo Ryan has made a career of putting the ball to the opposite field. That's rare in this day and age.

Baserunning & Defense
His glovework leaves a lot to be desired. His biggest problem in the field simply has to be his throwing arm... it's well below par. Ryan's absolutely no threat to steal and doubles must be obvious for him to chance advancing.

2010 Outlook
What The Retired or Inactive Players was thinking when they signed Ryan to a long contract, is beyond me: this guy flat-out sucks.
