Clipper Scarritt
Starting Pitcher | Detroit Tigers
Pitching Scarritt throws a nice sinker... The rookies never seem to know when it's coming. Scarritt can get into trouble with walks, and there's concern about him being able to maintain his stuff over the whole season. The running movement on his pitches makes life tougher on lefties than righties. It's hard to explain but Clipper Scarritt plays much better on the road then he does at home.
Defense & Hitting For a lefty, his move to first base is average at best, and he has a tendency to forget about runners at second, thereby creating opportunities to swipe third. Scarritt never has been a good fielder. Scarritt is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Scarritt has some pop in his swing.
