Bobby Simms
Third Baseman | Free Agents
Hitting Simms never has been a patient hitter. In past seasons, Simms has been a bit of a liability with men on base. Simms always has been a line-drive hitter who uses the entire field. Even though you might not start him, he's not a bad guy to have on your bench for the tough left-handed reliever. It's hard to explain but Bobby Simms plays much better on the road then he does at home. It's unfortunate too, with Simms signing a hefty contract. You gotta imagine management wants a little better relationship between him and the fans.
Baserunning & Defense When you play Simms you're not putting him in for his glove. His arm is accurate enough. He has below-average speed and is stiff on the basepath. He's poor on a straight steal but has some success at reading pitchers and working a delayed steal.
2010 Outlook What The Free Agents was thinking when they signed Simms to a long contract, is beyond me: this guy flat-out sucks.
