Jesse Smith
First Baseman | Retired or Inactive Players

Hitting
In past seasons, Smith has been a bit of a liability with men on base. The book on Smith is that you can knock the bat out of his hands with an average major league fastball. Smith always has been a line-drive hitter who uses the entire field. He hits righthanders and lefthanders with equal consistency.

Baserunning & Defense
His glovework leaves a lot to be desired. Jesse's arm leaves a little to be a desired. Smith isn't a good baserunner. He doesn't get good jumps on steals nor runs sharp routes around the bases.

2010 Outlook
What The Retired or Inactive Players was thinking when they signed Smith to a long contract, is beyond me: this guy flat-out sucks.
