Craig Smyres
Catcher | Retired or Inactive Players

Hitting
This guy can't hit a watermelon with a lampost. Even though you might not start him, he's not a bad guy to have on your bench for the tough left-handed reliever. You can expect Craig Smyres to hit the ball to the opposite field... that's just the kind of hitter he is.

Baserunning & Defense
Minor league scouts have accused Smyres of being a liability in the field. His biggest problem in the field simply has to be his throwing arm... it's well below par. Smyres isn't a good baserunner. He doesn't get good jumps on steals nor runs sharp routes around the bases.

2010 Outlook
What The Retired or Inactive Players was thinking when they signed Smyres to a long contract, is beyond me: this guy flat-out sucks.
