Perry Taveras
Right Fielder | Free Agents

Hitting
Taveras never has been a patient hitter. Taveras always has been a line-drive hitter who uses the entire field. The Free Agents do tend to sit Taveras when the opposing team throws a lefty. It's no secret he can't touch the left-handed breaking ball.

Baserunning & Defense
Taveras doesn't have great speed, though he reads righthanders' moves well enough to steal a handful of bases each season without getting caught very often. Taveras plays mostly right field, where his mediocre range and throwing arm are less than ideal. He'd be better off in left.

2010 Outlook
What The Free Agents was thinking when they signed Taveras to a long contract, is beyond me: this guy flat-out sucks.
