Hitting
In past seasons, Tierney has been a bit of a liability with men on base. Tierney always has been a line-drive hitter who uses the entire field. He hits righthanders and lefthanders with equal consistency.

Baserunning & Defense
His defense is solid but unspectacular. He has a strong, accurate arm. Tierney doesn't have great speed, though he reads righthanders' moves well enough to steal a few bases each season without getting caught very often.

2010 Outlook
The Cincinnati Reds signed him to a long-term contract, but don't think they won't drop Tierney like a hot potato if something better comes along.
