John Tipton
Right Fielder | Free Agents

Hitting
He thrives late in games. One of the nice things about John is that he's a real clutch hitter. If it's late in the game, and there are men on base, you want this guy at the plate. The book on Tipton is that you can knock the bat out of his hands with an average major league fastball. Let's face facts: Tipton hits a lot of ground balls... and in my book, if you're slow of foot and put the ball on the ground, you're bound to get tied up in the double play. He hits righthanders and lefthanders with equal consistency. He struggles away from home.

Baserunning & Defense
When you play Tipton you're not putting him in for his glove. His biggest problem in the field simply has to be his throwing arm... it's well below par. His speed is below average and he's not a threat to steal.

2010 Outlook
What The Free Agents was thinking when they signed Tipton to a long contract, is beyond me: this guy flat-out sucks.
