Ed Tomlin
Left Fielder | Retired or Inactive Players

Hitting
He has the mental discipline to handle clutch situations. This guy can't hit a watermelon with a lampost. Even though you might not start him, he's not a bad guy to have on your bench for the tough left-handed reliever. You can expect Ed Tomlin to hit the ball to the opposite field... that's just the kind of hitter he is. It's hard to explain but Ed Tomlin plays much better on the road then he does at home. It's unfortunate too, with Tomlin signing a hefty contract. You gotta imagine management wants a little better relationship between him and the fans.

Baserunning & Defense
Tomlin doesn't read balls well off the bat, misses cutoff men consistently and floats throws to the infield. Runners take advantage of his weak arm. Tomlin isn't a good baserunner. He doesn't get good jumps on steals nor runs sharp routes around the bases.

2010 Outlook
What The Retired or Inactive Players was thinking when they signed Tomlin to a long contract, is beyond me: this guy flat-out sucks.
