Hal Vick
First Baseman | Retired or Inactive Players
Hitting One thing's for sure, late in the game you're glad you have him on the field. In past seasons, Vick has been a bit of a liability with men on base. The book on Vick is that you can knock the bat out of his hands with an average major league fastball. He has a natural lift to his swing, which produces few groundballs. The Retired or Inactive Players do tend to sit Vick when the opposing team throws a lefty. It's no secret he can't touch the left-handed breaking ball.
Baserunning & Defense When you play Vick you're not putting him in for his glove. Hal's arm leaves a little to be a desired. He has no speed at all and runs the bases conservatively.
2010 Outlook What The Retired or Inactive Players was thinking when they signed Vick to a long contract, is beyond me: this guy flat-out sucks.
